Elastin

Eaten as a delicacy in Japan, the bulbous arteriosus organ attached to the heart of the bonito fish contains 70-90% elastin fibre.

Elastin functions with collagen to keep skin supple and wrinkle free. Elastin makes up 2-4% of human skin, 20% of human lung tissue and 50% of human vasculature. This insoluble core protein decreases with age, leading to skin damage and diminished cardiovascular health.

Sustainably derived, elastin from JBSL features a low molecular weight which means it is more easily absorbed by the human body.

Benefits include reduced visible wrinkles in skin, increased endothelial pliability, improved blood flow and reduced blood platelet aggregation.
