Succinic acid is a dicarboxylic acid used in a variety of direct and indirect applications.
It is used as a flavouring agent for food and beverages and an intermediate for dyes, adhesives, sealants, lacquers, photographic chemicals, alkyd resins, plasticisers, metal treatment chemicals, and coatings.
In resins, lacquers and other coatings, its use improves the hardness and flexibility of these substances and shortens drying times compared to similar products that use petrochemicals.
